A. YES. The average person experiences a hyper-suggestible state at least
several times daily. Another way to feel suggestible is the same as
the state of being in love. Another hypersuggestable state is when your
anxious or nervous and your body naturally tries to calm down.
Q. Can I be forced to do things I don't want to do?
A. No. The conscious mind always overrides the subconscious mind. It would
take massive mind control plus mind altering hallucinogen type drugs to be able to control someone to go
against their will. Stage hypnotists do not force people to do funny things
either, those people 'want' to do those things, or they wouldn't have stepped up
on stage to begin with, so they allow for the hypnosis to take place. Hypnosis lets people do what they already wanted to do.
Like a permission slip to the mind.
Q. What are ways hypnosis can help me?
A. Hypnosis can be used for many things. Examples are: Self esteem,, habit
control,
fears & phobias, building confidence, weight control, dreaming, relationship
enhancement, past life
regressions, etc. It's endless really. If you want to change, we just
help you -'Unlock You're Potential'.
Q. What is NLP
A. Neuro-Linguistic Programming. This is happening daily (like in schools,
churches, especially seminars, etc.) Some forms are done with the intent of
secretly persuading
your decision making. It's already happened to us through
out our entire life, which is why we have a all have some sort of belief system. Some types
of NLP are good, and teach morals, and sometimes it can be negative. Be cautious!
Some could find themselves handing large amounts of money over to someone or some large
organization, just after a seminar, or presentation. Scam artists are very good
at this technique. The famous Hypnotist- Milton Erickson used this method effectively
in positive ways. Some
methods are also very wonderful in achieving goals, It's knowing the difference
that counts.
Q. What brain wave is experienced mostly during hypnosis?
A. Clients normally drop into a low Alpha state, just a hint lower than the
state they were previously in when they were filling out paperwork or watching
TV. They will not be put into Delta sleep state, but instead, what is
called a 'hypnotic' sleep, where the conscious mind relaxes as the subconscious mind
experiences a heightened awareness. The client remains in Alpha, and may not technically feel much
different, however, will be super relaxed and stress free. The
client may temporarily drop into Theta, which is the brain wave where REM dreaming occurs,
but not for long at all. A client may also experience Beta prior, if was running
late, or really upset, or is extremely nervous. Beta normally occurs during
active times / exercise.
Q. Will I "feel' different after hypnosis?
A. Since clients are always conscious, most are always aware of all that is going
on, only more focused. Most the time it's others that notice,
more than the client.that change has already happened. The majority of clients feel an
overwhelming feeling of 'well being' when they emerge from the hypnotic state.
But it feels very natural and normal, it won't feel odd or unnatural. Time gain or loss may be
experienced pending the depth of hypnosis, Slight amnesia is possible, but rare,
even then memory normally regains with-in the next
day unless it's purposely suggested.
Q. Will a change be noticed right away?
A. That depends on what each person is wanting to achieve. Which is why we set up
package deals. Some problems are deep rooted and took a long time to
create, which would take some time to re-adjust. It's different for each
and everyone of us. Some feel the change right away, some gradually feel it. But
generally all clients notice some form of positive change after just one session. We work with
each client, but we
cannot do all of the work. Hypnotherapy is a partnership between the
client and hypnotist. If the client follows the guidelines that are discussed, the outcome will
lead to greater satisfaction. The Hypnotist will give tools to make this transaction be easier than it would
be with out hypnosis.
Q. Is Hypnosis sleep or loss of
consciousness?
A. No, because the mind does not drop into Delta. It
is not the same as when one goes to bed and drops into Delta. One may
experience some Theta during
their hypnosis session. Hypnosis is a state of total physical relaxation and a heightened mental
alertness. We wake up the subconscious, while the conscious mind relaxes. It's
very easy for one to accidentally fall asleep, so we pay close attention and if
this happens, we will just wake the client back up and proceed, which is very
normal.
Q. Does a person remember everything that
the hypnotist tells them during the session?
A. Sure! Most clients remember everything. Occasionally if they do experience some time loss, this is temporary.
Hypnotic amnesia, from a deep stage can happen, but will normally come back with-in that
day or the next. We can however suggest amnesia on purpose if client wants that, but
it's rare.
Q. Can a person live in a hypersuggestable state?
A. Absolutely. They can, and do! People actually walk into
the office already in a hypersuggestable state. As we experience it many times
daily. Some people actually need to be de-hypnotized, by learning to relax and
control stress. This is why we offer stress management sessions as well.
Q. Will getting hypnotized make me reveal
things I don't want to tell?
A. No. We do not prompt you to tell us your deepest, darkest secrets. But
what ever you do 'choose' to tell us to better understand your situation, we are
bound by law to keep any information confidential. The only way we could reveal
anything is by a court issued subpoena. However if we feel a client reveals to
be a threat to themselves or a threat to others, by law we have to report it.
Q. Can I afford hypnotherapy sessions?
A. Yes. We have packages that are individually created. If
purchasing a package, the more one will save on cost. Single sessions are
currently $75. We also are a part of Healthways Insurance Network, which is a
self pay discount to any policy holders on the list. Save by taking advantage of
our package deals too. It's a great investment for one's self.
